NEWS! Just added to our fun filled event is a special screening of Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog! Joss is allowing us to screen his hi-larious work for no additional cost due to the fact that all of our profit is going to Equality Now! How shiny is that?!
The Screening Job * Join us for a shiny evening full of "good works." The Mile High Browncoats, Colorado's official fan group, invites you to a very special screening of Joss Whedon's film Serenity to benefit Equqlity Now.
Tickets * On-line sales have ended. Tickets will now be available at the door for cashy money. $15.00 per person and includes admittance to all events and 1 (one) prize drawing ticket.
Venue * The wonderful Starz FilmCenter at the Tivoli welcomes us back for a third year. Parking will be validated at the MHBC's table located in the main lobby.
Schedule & Activities * Doors open at 4:30 PM, with the film starting at 7:00 PM. A full list of activities will be posted below and updated as information becomes available.
Event Swag * Pre-Orders for Posters, Patches, and T-shirts have ended. A limited amount of swag will be available (for cash only) at the MHBC table in the theater lobby while supplies last.

Can't Stop The Serenity is a global series of screenings of the film Serenity, held to raise money and awareness for Equality Now, an international women's rights advocacy group. Can't Stop The Serenity events are held around the world on (or around) June 23, which is writer / director Joss Whedon's birthday. CSTS has raised over $250,000 since 2006. This will be the 4th Denver screening organized by The Mile High Browncoats.
Equality Now
Equality Now was founded in 1992 to work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. Working with national human rights organizations and individual activists, Equality Now documents violence and discrimination against women and mobilizes international action to support their efforts to stop these human rights abuses.
Starz FilmCenter
In 2002, with the generous support of the Starz Entertainment Group and the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), the Denver Film Society opened the Starz FilmCenter, a seven-screen independent movie-house at the Tivoli Student Union. The Starz FilmCenter also hosts the DFS’ flagship event: The Starz Denver Film Festival in November.
MHBC
Colorado's Official fan group for Joss Whedon's feature film Serenity and televison series Firefly. Begun in 2002, our group has grown from a few friends watching episodes of Firefly on Friday nights to a full crew of characters. |
